Asked to redesign a troublesome roof configuration, Swalling Walk felt compelled to point out the original turret was ill conceived and out of scale with the rest of the house.  The proposed solution: remove the upper floor.  Agreeing, the clients soon added items to their wishlist until the renovation encompassed the entire house both inside and out, including an elevator and a  prominent entry.
