This historic house of the legendary Schmidt family of Tumwater, received a master plan for the historic preservation of the entire estate.  Restoration included: rebuilding the entry porch, repointing masonry, replacing inappropriate aluminum windows, and installation of period floor and wall coverings.  The house is currently run by the Olympia-Tumwater Foundation and is on the National Historic Register.
